Checked out the MicroBus at the paint and body shop. It slowly progressing and I’m not certain the target completion date will be made. My thought is if it takes longer for a damn good job it is worth it. If it sucks, that a whole a different ballgame to played.
The front cab area door and kick panels came in. I’ll be installing the set tomorrow if time permits. I’m still debating what to do with the cargo area. There is really no stock paneling for this type of bus. It was used to haul shit around so the sheet metal was exposed in the interior.
Well, the 12″ Alpine Type R subwoofer sounded damn good but I was bored with it after a month or so. Tonight I installed a pair of Kicker 12″ L7’s and a big ass ported enclosure. After playing with for awhile it’s obvious I’m going to need to Dynamat the shit out of Cyclops and check all areas where a seal between 2 contact point is made. The bass hits so hard my fuel door wants to pop open. Funny chit.
At some point I’ll probably pickup another Optima Yellow top battery so I increase the play time on the subs. I have the sub-system completely separate from the ignition/starter electrical system, so generator charging the sub while motor is running. The Optima is a deep charge cycle battery and I keep it connected onto a battery maintainer when not in use.
The Kicker L712 Subs are powered by a Quantum 2000W amplifier. I also have a set of Kicker 6×9 boxed speakers tucked under the rear seat pointing towards the front. That pair is powered by a 600W amplifier.
